On the Rizk Radar: La Liga & Serie A get underway

Multiple hotspots appearing on the Rizk Radar ahead of the weekend, with a heavy concentration over southern Europe – La Liga and Serie A action anyone?

It’s fair to say football will be in full swing after these two get going. Real Madrid and Barcelona will no doubt be battling it out for the Spanish title, while Juventus and a certain someone, who goes by the name of Cristiano, will be looking to retain the title for a seventh consecutive season.

Chelsea v Arsenal (Saturday 18:30)

Unai Emery’s induction week to the Premier League continues in the late game on Saturday against Chelsea. The new Arsenal boss couldn’t have picked a tougher start to his tenure – a visit from Manchester City last Sunday ended in a 2-0 defeat. Chelsea had a much smoother ride last weekend, a comfortable 3-0 win away to Huddersfield and solid performance to boot.

Lazio v Napoli (Saturday 20:30)

Napoli gets their Serie A campaign underway with a Saturday night trip to the Stadio Olimpico. New Boss, Carlo Ancelotti, will be looking to pick up where Maurizio Sarri left off after finishing second in the previous campaign. A decent season for Lazio last term, too, but with an ageing squad and having lost their key man in Felipe Anderson to West Ham, finishing fifth (or higher), may prove a step too far.

Real Madrid v Getafe (Sunday 22:15)

You’d be forgiven for skipping over this fixture in search of value, though, the handicap markets offer a route to some decent prices, should your heart desire. Getafe are the first to visit the Bernabéu this season and in all honesty, will probably be happy if they can bag themselves a corner, let alone a goal.

Valencia v Atletico Madrid (Monday 20:00)

Valencia kick-off their La Liga campaign against Atletico Madrid on Monday evening. Geoffrey Kondogbia, Michy Batshuayi, and former Atletico man, Kevin Gameiro, all signed for Los Murciélagos during the window and could be the difference should Atletico’s stars be a little slow out of the traps.
