How long have you been working at Betsson & Zecure Gaming?

Since 2014, 2 years with Zecure and 4.5 with Betsson Group. There was a short break in between, but I missed it so came back for a great opportunity.

Tell us about your role

My role as Head of New Business, is to launch new markets and business for Zecure. I then also take care of specific markets and brands that fall under my remit such as Rizk New Zealand.

Fun, hardworking, dedicated, playful and proud (we take pride in our work)

What do you like most about working at Zecure?

Too many things to mention all of them, but I would say the people aspect is what stands out and the fact that it is like a small company within a larger organisation.

What is a day in the life of the Head of New Business

The day always has to start with coffee, once I have coffee I am ready to seize the day. When in the office, a quick catch up with colleagues is also important, just to check in and see how they are doing.

As a head of New Business you look at the markets you are responsible for and the key performance indicators of the day before. You trend the business week on week and month on month to see the overall performance. Once those KPI’s are in place, I would typically have a quick meeting with the team to put context to those numbers and how we are going to take action. After that I typically then organize follow up meetings needed to action the points discussed in the daily morning meeting. As a result, the day gets so busy with meetings that before you know it, it has ended.

How do you spend your weekends?

Weekends for me means rest and family time, although in practice it doesn’t always pan out that way. I have 2 young daughters who have their own commitments and Saturday mornings tend to be a rush against time. However I really try my best to include down time and free time for both myself and them. I feel the weekend is a time to re-group with the family, and spend quality time, such as watching a movie all together, going out for a nice lunch in the sun, it really depends on the families’ mood (or mine rather). Many times weekdays are so rushed and structured that there isn’t enough time to sit back and really see what is happening in your family’s life and the weekend is the only opportunity to truly connect. Occasionally we meet friends, in fact a great weekend for me signifies balance, with these 3 components, rest, family and friends.
